Florian Germann’s works of sculpture and installation art straddle the divisions between organic body, technical apparatus, and living environment, probing the entanglements between human, animal, and machine. Materials serve him as carriers of energy, forming hybrid structures that feel at once familiar and alien. Some works take on a life of their own as plants, insects, or birds colonize them.
