In this pioneering editorial series, ephemeral teaching experiments at the architectural studio GayMenzel are transformed into a lasting institutional archive of architectural research and pedagogy.
This second volume of a new editorial series by the Institute and Section of Architecture at the Swiss Federal Technology Institute of Lausanne (EPFL) documents five years of teaching by GayMenzel at EPFL, an architectural studio led by Catherine Gay Menzel and Götz Menzel between 2021 and 2026. Through a curated selection of projects, drawings, models, and reflections, the publication explores the pedagogical and intellectual framework developed within the studio. More than a record of student work, it presents the studio as a site of architectural research, while contributing to a growing archive of visiting practices that have shaped the school’s culture of experimentation and exchange.
