BOROS COLLECTION

Bunker #5

With a Preface by Raoul Zöllner

The companion book to the fifth presentation of the Boros Collection, a cutting-edge contemporary collection exhibited in a high-rise Berlin bunker.

In a present where external order becomes increasingly unstable, our emphasis is shifting toward inner states. Withdrawal, interiority, and psychological intensification are all becoming defining tendencies in contemporary art. The fifth presentation of the Boros Collection, a collection of contemporary art periodically displayed in a former air-raid bunker in Berlin-Mitte, begins precisely where external realities start to fracture. This new selection from the collection of Christian and Karen Boros extends across all five floors of the bunker and features recent acquisitions next to other works that have never been seen by the public. Across twenty-seven artistic positions, a dramaturgy of transition unfolds: figures, spaces, and situations appear not as fixed images, but as processes, states, and afterimages. What becomes visible is less an external world than its echo within bodies and psyches. Many of the participating artists and their galleries are closely connected to Berlin. The city is therefore not just a backdrop but
a central resonant site in the showcase.
